Badrinath, in Chamoli district, is one of India's most sacred pilgrimage destinations and one of the four Char Dham shrines. Located in the Garhwal Himalayas beside the Alaknanda River, Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and attracts thousands of pilgrims during the annual pilgrimage season.
