Joshimath, in Chamoli district, is one of the most important towns on the Badrinath route. It serves as a gateway to Badrinath, Auli, Valley of Flowers, and several high-altitude Himalayan areas. The town also has significant religious importance and is closely associated with Adi Shankaracharya.
